Very
interesting day, arrived in France with no problems. Drama started when
we pulled in for fuel 3 hours from Calais to discover the A frame on the
front of the trailer was cracked both sides to the point where if we
had gone much further the trailer wouldn't have stayed with us. Several
hundred phone calls later and several hours later the trailer is welded
together enough to hold it for a few miles
and we take it to a garage. Again a million more phone calls and
several hours later we leave trailer at garage and get escorted to a
yard where we are told there is stabling for 5 ponies. Bearing in mind
it's now approx 6.30pm and the ponies had been on the lorry since
3.30am! Arrive at yard to find no stables for ponies! Several hundred
phone calls later we get another taxi escort to another yard. Lovely
lovely yard owner has turned her horses out in field for night so we can
have stables. Ponies now happy in stables, humans fed and drinking wine
and its now 10.30 pm and we are off to bed. A very very stressful day
with much screaming, shouting, swearing, crying and laughing at
occasional times. Fingers crossed trailer is fixed tomorrow and we can
carry on as planned. Will do our best to keep you posted. Love The
Humans ( Gingers too tired to write!)
